Mr. Anic has over 30 years of experience in managing the financial and business affairs of companies experiencing rapid growth and/or strategic transformation. He has successfully built up two specialty finance companies providing term loans and leases for "nontraditional" companies and assets. He has also worked extensively with high tech, entrepreneurial companies - especially those with institutional private equity backing.
Mick has been on "both sides of the desk" in dealing with a wide range of financial challenges:
- as CFO, he successfully raised the capital needed to execute various business plans (including angel financing, institutional VC equity, bank debt, equipment leases, research contracts and a $50+ million IPO)
- as Investor, Lender and Lessor, he has made 350+ proposals for $570+ million in financing to venture and growth stage companies resulting in binding commitments to fund $200+ million
- as Advisor and Consultant, he has helped small and large company clients complete complex transactions and strategic transformations (including a $28 million equity raise and recapitalization of a West Coast specialty finance company)
- as Fund Manager, he turned around a troubled $50 million investment fund and later raised, managed and sold a $66 million venture leasing and debt fund
Throughout his career, Mr. Anic has demonstrated a strong work ethic, a high standard of performance and an unwavering commitment to personal and corporate ethical behavior. Mr. Anic thrives in challenging environments.
Mr. Anic holds a BS in Organizational Behavior and Operations Research from Yale University (1972) and an MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University Of Chicago Graduate School Of Business (1975). Mick was awarded the John L. Carey Scholarship for graduate studies in accounting by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a graduate of the 19th annual Venture Capital Institute (1993) and the first annual Venture Capital Institute Graduate Program (2000) offered by the National Association of Small Business Investment Companies (NASBIC).
Mick is an avid bicyclist, yoga practitioner and foodie. He has also served on the Sheboygan County Board of Supervisors (District 18) and the Endowment Board of Trustees for the Rehabilitation Center of Sheboygan, WI. He is now a proud resident of Dallas, TX but retains his devotion to the Green Bay Packers.
